Our Story So Far...
REECH is a dedicated 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides essential residential care and comprehensive life skills education for TAYA who are aging out of foster care. Our nurturing environment offers specialized adulting/life skills education and job/entrepreneurial training with a Christian ethos, ensuring a supportive and caring space for young individuals to thrive. We are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment that fosters personal growth and prepares young individuals for a successful future.
Our Commitment...
Since its inception, REECH has been dedicated to providing essential services for TAYA who are transitioning out of foster care. Answering a call to action, REECH began by offering its services to the Black male population because of the racial disproportionality in the foster care system that lands many of them in prison. Therefore, our history is a story of compassion and unwavering commitment to empowering young adults, helping them succeed in life despite the challenges they have endured. Through a nurturing and supportive environment, we have created a safe space that Black TAYA can culturally identify with and all youth can learn, thrive, and achieve. We call this adulting with excellence!
Our Pillars:
Our organization focuses on empowering TAYA through specialized programs and innovative ideas that enhance life skills, develop self-confidence, and expand their 'working-smart' spirit. Our signature programs include:
- Monthly "Talking About Real Life" Fireside Chats with local leaders/experts,
- Annual Beautillion/Cotillion "Putting on the Ritz" Talent Extravaganza, and
- Annual "Rolling YOUniversity Tour" (in 2025, we will have an exclusively Texas higher education tour since TAYA can attend Texas institutions tuition-free).
