We honor & celebrate resilient youth who age out of foster care!

REECH offers "Talking About Real Life" Fireside Chats

Along with Transitional Training, REECH also offers weekly Fireside Chats between the adulting youth and  local leaders. In an informal setting, REECH youth will be introduced to authority figures that they would probably not otherwise meet. These discussion get-togethers serve a tri-fold purpose:

  1. Present successful adults who avail themselves as role models and/or mentors,
  2. Allow TAYAs to experience real life success examples in each area of focus, and
  3. introduce TAYA to successful adults while allowing the adults a chance to meet our delightful adulting TAYA!

I volunteer to be a panelist!

Empowering Youth Through Community Engagement and Support

Spiritual Awareness

Pastor S. C. "Chuck" Nash of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church (a sponsoring partner) leads the discussion on "How spirituality will enhance your life." Panelists will include DFW-area community members and ministers.

Financial Awareness

Local bankers and financial advisors/planners will be on hand to discuss "What adulting TAYA need to know in the area of finances to be successful in the real world."

Legal

A Dallas County Criminal District Judge will lead the discussion regarding "Legal topics that every adulting youth needs to understand." Panelists will include other judges, lawyers, and, hopefully, the Dallas District Attorney.

Medical

Doctors, dentists, nurses, and other medical professionals will lead the discussion that will focus on "What adulting youth need to know in the area of medicine and health choices."

Business/Entrepreneurial Ventures

Since entrepreneur is a part of REECH's name, this discussion will explore it by answering, "Should I consider going into business for myself?"

Civic & Environmental Responsibilities

A civic duty is a necessary task or activity that members of a society need to complete with the end goal of being a benefit (to enhance) their community. "What are the civic & environmental requirements of citizens in a democratic society?"

Emotional/Psychological

Good mental health is paramount in a quality life, so we explore the question, "What does one need to know in the area of emotional/psychological health?"

Social Skills & Service Learning

Interacting with others and providing for needs in the community improves the life of the giver and the recipient. Therefore,  we explore the question, "How do service learning and social skills benefit me and others?"

Education

Discussion will focus on "Educational options available for today's adulting youth." Included in the discussion are answers to the question "College is not for me, what next?" While higher education is recommended, other options will be presented.

As a 501c3, we truly appreciate those who work with us!
