We honor & celebrate resilient youth who age out of foster care!

Empowering Teens/Young Adults Through Adulting Education

Financial Management

REECH residents will learn about budgeting, saving, and understanding  credit -- empowering them to make informed financial decisions. The young adults will have a solid foundation in financial literacy, preparing them for the  challenges of adult life.

Life Decisions/Responsibility

To navigate  life's challenges with confidence and integrity, youth will explore decision-making processes, understand  the consequences of their actions, and learn strategies for personal  accountability and ethical reasoning. They will gain insights into setting  goals, prioritizing tasks, and managing time effectively.

Health and Safety

Learning to maintain their well-being and ensure a safe environment, young adults will learn about nutrition, mental health,  physical fitness, and the importance of regular medical check-ups,  along with practical safety measures for everyday situations. They will explore  topics such as first aid, digital safety, and personal self-defense, which will result in making informed health  choices as they respond effectively to potential safety challenges.

Housing and Transportation

Participants will explore housing choices, including renting, buying, and  maintaining homes, as well as understanding lease agreements and  budgeting for housing expenses. Additionally, transportation options, such as public transit, car ownership, and  alternative commuting methods, will allow youth to make informed decisions to enhance their independence and mobility.

Job Readiness, Educational, & Vocational Readiness

For teens & young adults to successfully enter the  workforce,  they will learn about resumes, interview  skills, and effective communication, while also exploring  educational and vocational services available to support their career  aspirations. They will gain confidence and practical experience to navigate the  job market and make informed career choices.

Personal/Social Relationships

With the goal of establishing and maintaining healthy and meaningful connections with others, young adults will explore topics such as effective communication, conflict resolution, and the importance of empathy. They will gain valuable insights and skills to enhance their social interactions and foster supportive, positive relationships in their personal and professional lives.
